Flamborough Head Forum Trip 20/05/07

Had a great session off North landing, Flamborough on Sunday 20th May ...  The weather was very nice with a slight breeze and plenty of sun. The tide was low when we set of from North landing in its pretty sheltered bay. We used Hokki's for the entire trip and deadly they were too. Quickly out and round towards Thornwick Bay we fished about 300yds offshore and were quickly into fish. Raymo was first to hit jackpot with a nice 2 1/2 lb codling. After that we had quite a few codling and plenty of coalfish.

The first of the Cod to be caught .. well done Raymo ..!

Steve ( No fear ) was quickly into the Cod too ..!

After a couple of hours we landed in a secluded quiet bay near Thornwick for a
well earned rest and a quick photo session ....

Then it was back to the fishing grounds .... Not long back steve got into a good fish which put up a good fight on his light tackle ... and landed a lovely Pollock ...

We also drifted over lots of shoals of Whiting and sandeels which were diving on the hokkies ..! we could have filled the kayaks with this lot. Towards the end we packed up and showed Raymo around the beautiful caves littered around Flamborough head ... he loved it !

Heres Ray Silhouetted against a big cave entrance ....

Myself and steve have kayak fished Flamborough Head many times but can't wait to go back there to try and get some of the Bigger Cod that live there ..!

Fun Day out at Cayton Bay 14/01/2007

We had a fun day meet at Cayton Bay in North Yorkshire. Attending were Nemo, Space Monkey Spud, Raymo, Volusian and No Fear from the www.kayakfishing.co.uk forum. Great day was had by all. Its nice to put faces to names on the forum. Most had met for the first time. Gave us all a great opportunity to share news and views on Yak fishing. Spent few hours on the water but not many bites. Also the wind got up for a while and gave us all the opportunity to brush up and exercise our kayak abilities. We will definitely be back there when the weather settles a bit more. Anyone else wishing to attend just let us know on the forum.
